Statement of Faith

About God - We believe that God is the creator and ruler of the universe.   He has eternally existed in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).   These three are co-equal and are one God.

About the Bible - We believe that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were guided by the Holy Spirit to write every word of Scripture.  Therefore, the Bible is without error and is the basis for all Christian beliefs and behavior.

About the Holy Spirit - We Believe that the Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father, Our Comforter sent to convict the world of sin, place the believer in the Body of Christ, in-dwell the believer and bestow spiritual gifts to the church.

About Baptism - We Believe the ordinances of the church, by command of Christ, are water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper, both of which are administered to those who are born again.  We Believe the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is for all believers as a definite endowment of power for service and is subsequent to and separate from conversion. Through Baptism, we share what God has done in our lives and we commit to grow in our relationship with Jesus Christ. When a person is baptized, it represents his or her identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.

About Holy Communion - Unlike Baptism, which is a one time event, Holy Communion is a practice that is meant to be observed over and over throughout the life of a Christian. It is a holy time of worship when we corporately come together as one body to remember and celebrate what Christ did for us.  In observing Communion we are remembering Christ and all that He has done for us in his life, death and resurrection: And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 1 Corinthians 11:24 (NIV)

About Mankind - We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but all are alienated from that relationship through sin.  As a result, man is totally incapable of a right relationship with God by his own effort.

About Salvation - We believe that God the Father sent his son, the Lord Jesus to die on the cross for our sins and that his shed blood provides the sole basis for our forgiveness. Therefore, salvation can only occur when people place their faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for their sins.  Once a person places their faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit lives within them to provide power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance in daily life.

About the Rapture - We believe that the future period referred to as the tribulation, will be climaxed by the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth with power and great glory; at which time He shall establish His millennial kingdom.  However prior to the tribulation, we believe there will be the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in the air to receive to Himself in Heaven his own; those who are alive and who have died (inclusive of the resurrection) in Christ Jesus.
(I Thessalonians 4:13-17; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 3:10).

About Eternal Security- We believe that because God gives man eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity.  Salvation is maintained by the grace and power of God, not by the self-effort of the Christian.  It is the grace and keeping power of God that gives this security.
