Six Purposes of our Church

At the heart of our church are six core purposes that guide everything we do. Each one reflects our commitment to love God, grow in faith, and serve others with intention and joy.

† Worship – We were created to worship God from the overflow of our heart because true worship is one thing He seeks.  Matthew 22:37 states “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind. This is the greatest commandment.”

† Prayer – Prayer is the primary means of communicating with God.   A communing relationship with God sets our gaze on Him and His will and power in us.  2 Chronicles 7:14, 1 Thessalonians 5:16, Matt. 7:7-11

† Evangelism – Evangelism is leading people to Christ.  Matthew 28:49 states “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them…

† Fellowship – We are to participate in spiritual friendship, through ministry in the church, in the home, and in mission to the world.  Acts 2:42 states “They devoted themselves to… fellowship with one another.”

† Discipleship – Discipleship is becoming fully devoted to Jesus Christ.  Matthew 28:20 states “Teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

† Ministry – Ministry is loving people.  Matthew 22:39 states “And the second is like it; ‘Love your

neighbor as yourself.'”

Our Vision

To Produce Spiritually Productive People for Effective Ministry through Christ-Centered Teaching and Good Works”.

Our Purpose

Though nontraditional in style, CNLT is a church that is deeply committed to the eternal truths of the Christian faith.  Our purpose is simple: to become a biblically functioning community of believers so that Christ’s purposes can be accomplished in this world.  At CNLT, we sincerely believe in the absolute need for everyone to know why we are here and where we are going.  Every church must know its purpose from God and how every member fits into that purpose.

Our Values

However, what truly defines a church is not simply its doctrine, but its values. Celebrate New Life Tabernacle’s values shape who we are. Below are our core Spiritual Values and some of the passages from the Bible that support them:

The Spirit of Unity – “I pronounce “Unity” in the Lord.”  Ephesians 4:3

The Spirit of Integrity – “I am a person of “Integrity” in the Lord.”  Psalm 25:21

The Spirit of Excellence – “I function in “Excellence” for the Lord.”  1 Chronicles 28:21

The Spirit of Servanthood – “I am a Servant” of the Lord.”  1 Peter 4:10

The Spirit of Communication – “I am a good “communicator” in the Lord.” Ephesians 4:29

The Spirit of Accountability – “I am “Accountable” to the Lord and to His church.”  Romans 12:5

The Spirit of Joy – “I possess a spirit of “Joy” in the Lord.”  Philippians 4:4

Our Beliefs

Our beliefs are rooted in the Bible and centered on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. They shape our faith, guide our actions, and unify us as a church family.

About God – We believe that God is the creator and ruler of the universe.   He has eternally existed in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).   These three are co-equal and are one God.

About the Bible – We believe that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were guided by the Holy Spirit to write every word of Scripture.  Therefore, the Bible is without error and is the basis for all Christian beliefs and behavior.

About the Holy Spirit – We Believe that the Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father, Our Comforter sent to convict the world of sin, place the believer in the Body of Christ, in-dwell the believer and bestow spiritual gifts to the church.

About Holy Communion – Unlike Baptism, which is a one time event, Holy Communion is a practice that is meant to be observed over and over throughout the life of a Christian. It is a holy time of worship when we corporately come together as one body to remember and celebrate what Christ did for us.  In observing Communion we are remembering Christ and all that He has done for us in his life, death and resurrection: And when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 1 Corinthians 11:24 (NIV)

About Salvation – We believe that God the Father sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for our sins and that His shed blood is the sole basis for our forgiveness. Salvation comes only through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as payment for our sins. When a person places their faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit lives within them to provide power, truth, and guidance.
