    3. Keep the following mind as you prepare your testimony:
      1. Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you as you prepare your testimony.
      2. The following points may assist you. They are listed suggestions.
        • Describe where you were spiritually before receiving Christ as Saviour and Lord and how this condition affected your attitude, actions or relationships.
        • Explain what motivated you to consider and receive Christ.
        • Describe how your life has changes since trusting in Christ.
        • Consider your life “before” and “after” Christ. Focus on a main point to tie your testimony together. E.g., “I use to live with a great deal of fear and concerns. Having come to know the love of God my fears have been removed and I am now able to better deal with my life’s concerns.
        • Keep your testimony positive. Focus on what the Lord has done for you. Avoid specific negative references to individuals, fellowships or denominations. Keep the emphasis on God, His love and faithfulness.
        • Keep it brief; a few well-chosen words can have a powerful impact.
